Importer and Japanese manufacturer is obliged to notify the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of the following prescribed matters at every classification of electrical appliance and material from 1 to 20 mentioned in the table.

1	Rubber insulated cables and cords
2	Plastic insulated cables and cords
3	Metal conduits
4	Accessories of metal conduits
5	Plastic conduits
6	Accessories of plastic conduits
7	Link fuses
8	Fuses (except Link fuses and Thermal links)
9	Thermal links
10	Wiring devices
11	Meter rate current limiters
12	Single- phase small transformers
13	Single- phase small motors
14	Electric heating appliances
15	Electric motor-operated or magnetically driven appliances
16	Appliances incorporated with lighting
17	Electronic appliances
18	AC electric appliances
19	Portable engine generators
20	Lithium-ion batteries

※Ex.>DC Power Supply Unit is 18.AC electric appliances.

Type Classification

Importers based in Japan should notify METI of the following items, within 30 days after commencement of the import business.

1. Name or trade name, address
2. Name of the representative in the case of a fictitious person
3. Classification in the Electrical Appliances and Materials product type
4. Name or trade name and address of the manufacturer of the product concerned
